I submit that Republicans have not developed the adaptive skills and tools necessary to win ANY competitive races against Democrats (especially in anemic MN). We haven't evolved like D's have in "The Win at Any Cost World" that we now live in. My point is - D's have competing interests within their party as much as R's do. In fact, I suggest they actually have sharper points of disagreement (i.e. Bernie Sanders, etc).

This is why I have been a supporter of Trump (with some reservations of course) from the beginning. He seems to be a "win at any cost" type of competitor that R's should be tripping over each other to follow. Win or burn it down trying! Just look at the D's - when it is necessary to win - they suddenly walk in lock step (again i.e. Sanders). Example: amazingly, even after being publicly humiliated and screwed by his own Party, and Hillary, there is Bernie on stage with Hillary trying to convince his followers to get on board with the felon.

Have we witnessed any, even meager support for Trump from many of the weak-kneed, prominent R's? Nope.Jonathan Aanestadnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-423868999082505525.post-25492977134381850772015-07-10T10:00:55.550-05:002015-07-10T10:00:55.550-05:00You seem to be looking at this as some of our Libe...You seem to be looking at this as some of our Liberty friends do, as seeking some sort of "perfect conservative" voting record. In fact, I find many of these criticisms (not yours specifically) as often being seriously mis-characterized. For example, a vote to end debate may be called a vote "in favor" of the bill under consideration. More often, (almost always, in fact) real legislation includes a conflict among two or more principles and the vote is on whether the "good" outweighs the "bad," or even on the political consequences (like on the shutdown) of the vote.

In short, all legislation is imperfect in some way. We just need a legislator that gets it "right" over 50% of the time. jerrye92002https://www.blogger.com/profile/01858692298982859775noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-423868999082505525.post-26115513538406605412014-10-07T20:30:34.208-05:002014-10-07T20:30:34.208-05:00This analysis is spot on!!

I came across this blog. Dolt Dayton and Freakish Franken have, I'm sorry to say, sealed the deal - unless some miracle happens in the next few weeks. I keep getting calls to donate to support Johnson/McFadden. Donate to what? Don't get me wrong, as a dyed-in-the-wool conservative, I will vote for them. They are better than the alternatives - by far. But who could tell? Whereas one makes me sleepy, the other makes me nauseated. This thought that Democrats have it all wrong, is not particularly Christian. If all people mess up, and they do, (or have sinned, as Christians would say)then it makes no sense to believe that Republicans or Democrats have a monopoly on truth. For those like me who tend to be in the middle, maybe left leaning, I can see that both parties condemn the other in this all or nothing thinking. By the way, I am a practicing Christian who had a Jewish mother, so I can see both sides of the issue. And there are also atheists in my family who sometimes act more Christians than the Christians. Not always, but sometimes. So, what do you want to do with that little piece of information? At no point did Swann convey his own beliefs. I have come to the opposite conclusion, which is that the GOP's big problem is that we do not accept anybody that wants to call themselves a Republican as a Republican.
