Sawalich Withdraws; Sutton Announces
Last night Brandon Sawalich announced that he was withdrawing from the race for Chair of the RPM. Click on image of his letter to enlarge. Tony Sutton announced that he was running for Chair of the RPM. Can it be that we have only one candidate running for the top position? What does that say about the state of our party?
I wonder if this wasn't a total scam on us. Sawalich plays interference for Sutton until Grams drops out and time starts to run short. The timing was perfect. Within twelve hours of Brandon's dropping out Sutton is announcing he's in for real. No longer looking to be "drafted." Within twenty-four hours it is being announced on KTLK.
ReplyDeleteRon Carey appointed Brandon as Finance Chair, then Brandon campaigns for Chair while crying out about how the party has failed under the current leadership. Through all of this Carey keeps him around. Something smell fishy. The timing of all of this has been too perfect.
One thing I am sure of, it will be a long time before Sawalich has any serious credibility within the party.
Anyone who knows Brandon would say that he is a consummate professional. That is why he has decided to suspend his campaign. If he gave even 50% to this position, it would be better than what we have now, but that’s not good enough for him. We should respect him for having the decency to pull out now rather than leave everyone hanging on as Tony did with his ridiculous "draft” sham that has been going on since the State Central meeting last December.
ReplyDeleteWe deserve choice; this entitlement mentality is should be left for the other side of the political aisle. Let’s hope there are others that get in this race so we do have choice. If you want more of the same, vote for the insider, the status quo, vote Tony. He has been there for years, if he had so many problems with the current leadership why has he not been more aggressive at changing the direction of the party?
