The Source Of Demon Sheep Buzz On Twitter

MC doesn't pretend to understand everything we cover. Or don't cover. But in the last 24 hours the hashtag #demonsheep has taken the Twitterverse by storm thereby showing the, er, sheep-like nature of Twitter and all things human. The source is the ad above run by Carly Fiorina in California. MC finds it to be exceptionally bad. Who ARE her media people? The same dolts that labeled her website Carlyfornia? We want her to win but she's going to have to start acting like she wants to. In the meantime, she gives "in the know" people another metric by which to measure their in the knowingness. #fail

I disagree with your take. I liked it.

We're glad our commentator liked it but MC fears the lasting take will be what we found on CQPolitics Political Wire:

Demon Sheep

With polls showing her losing to Tom Campbell (R) in California's U.S. Senate race, Carly Fiorina (R) releases a video attack that is the buzz of Twitter this morning -- mostly because it backfired.

It's definitely worth watching.

Jonathan Chait: "The funny thing about this ad, aside from the clumsy over-the-top quality, is the metaphor... And what's the metaphor the ad uses? Sheep. But not in a disparaging way. The good politicians are sheep, doing what Grover Norquist tells them to do. Campbell, the ad tells us, is only pretending to be a sheep, but he's really a wolf. So vote for the sheep."
